The 25th January 2018 is the 258th anniversary of the birth of Robert Burns, Scotland’s Bard. This year St Mary’s will also be celebrating.
On this day all around the world, there will be people celebrating his life and work with a Burns Supper. At these suppers poetry by Burns is recited and people will enjoy the traditional Scottish dish of haggis with neeps and tatties, all washed down with some whisky.
There will be tartan, the scirl of the pipes, Robert Burns poems performed by some famous people and some of our own, some havering about laddies and lassies, Haggis, wine, whisky, good company and conversation. Now who would want to miss an event like that?
There are a limited number of tickets priced at £18 per person, 3 courses, a whisky, a wine, a blether and some gid entertainment.
Please sign the list at the back of church or see Carole Sweet for your attendance slip. Payment is required when confirming your place.
