Ash Wednesday
Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of Lent when Christians reflect upon Christ's time in the wilderness. It is a season for prayer, fasting and self-reflection. On Ash Wednesday we will hold our usual Book of Common Prayer service of Holy Communion at 12.00pm.
We also offer an evening service of Holy Communion with the choir, an address and the traditional Imposition of Ashes (the marking of an ash cross on the foreheads of those who wish to take part). The ashes are made from burning last year's palm crosses, marking the turning of a full circle of the Church year.
