St Mary's Whitegate

Marriage is one of the greatest joys of life. Christianity understands marriage to be a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman, for better for worse, for richer for poorer, in sickness and in health. Marriage is a holy estate, a vocation and is a wonderful, challenging and stretching adventure in self-sacrificing love. St Mary’s is keen to provide proper preparation and support to couples who come to be married.

If you live within the parish boundaries or are a member of the congregation on the electoral roll, you are welcome to be married in this church. We always encourage people from other parishes to approach their local church. If you do not fulfil residence requirements and are not a regular member of our congregation we can nonetheless offer a blessing of your marriage in our church following a civil marriage ceremony.
